Modeling Categories
Models will be wearing their own clothing. The fit of the clothing is the most important component. This is not a fashion show—the goal is to show off the build and skin coloring of the model.
Fashion Runway
Entrants will be allotted equal amounts of time to complete one circuit of the runway. Swimsuits, tuxedos, cocktail/party dresses, eveningwear or pageant dresses are not appropriate for this category. Attire should be high fashion black and white. For example:
Women: Black skirt/slacks and fitted top or black dress with heels
Men: Black slacks and fashionable collared shirt/jacket or vest with
closed- toe shoes.
Children: Fun and hip. Think Old Navy, Gap Kids, and Justice’s.
Girls: A casual dress/skirt/pants and top with or without pattern.
Tights or leggings are optional.
Boys: Slacks and button down shirt or sweater. Jacket is optional.
Photography
Each talent in this competition will show the agents and clients his/her (2) best photos in consecutive pages of a portfolio book. Photos should be printed out and between the sizes of 8”X10” and 9”X12”. Photos can be in color or black/white. Photos must be less than 6 months old. Attire worn in the photos is up to your discretion. We suggest selecting photos that are professional and highlight your best features.
Swimwear
Entrants will be allotted equal amounts of time to complete one circuit of the runway. Swimsuits should be flattering on the entrant’s figure and accent his or her best attributes. Female entrants age 13+ are required to wear a one-piece suit and heels. Suits should be modest and tasteful. Any color is acceptable, but black or bright colors look best. Frills and large rhinestone adornments are not recommended. Hair and makeup should be natural. Sheer-to-the-waist hose may be worn. Male entrants should wear trunks with an optional tank or surf-type shirt. Shoes should be secure to the foot and comfortable with no flopping. Male entrants and children may walk barefoot. Female entrants ages 13+ must wear heels. Heels should enhance posture and stature without interfering with the entrant’s ability to walk. Babies and children may wear hats.
Acting Categories
Talent will be required to slate before each scene or commercial. All scripts should be appropriate to the entrant’s age. Entrants should dress according to their parts. Jewel tones for commercial and sit-com look best. Solid white shirts are not allowed. Props are not allowed for any acting category. Adult language is not permitted.
Commercial
Entrants will be filmed in a separate room with the commercial projected live on screen. Commercials should last between 30 and 45 seconds. Entrants will choose from a provided list of age appropriate commercials. Props are not allowed for any acting scenes. Actors act to the camera for this scene and should practice standing on mark and looking into a camera.
Monologue
Entrants will perform their monologues on stage for no longer than 60 seconds. Monologues may be funny or serious. Entrants can find scripts online (www.simplyscripts.com , www.textfiles.com , or www.dailyscript.com) or at a local library or may write their own.
Singing and Dancing: (Instrumental & etc.)
Entrants have an allotted time of 90 seconds. All discs must be clearly marked with the entrant’s name and category. If costumes are a necessary component of a presentation, they should be simple and non-distracting. Adult language is not permitted. Two copies of discs should be turned in at registration.
Singing
Entrants must give two copies of their discs at registration. The entrant’s song will be faded out by the 1:30 spot (90 seconds) and must be the only song on the disc. No vocals may be on the disc. Songs should be appropriate to the entrant’s personality. If an entrant wants to perform on Broadway, then a show tune is best; if the entrant has been trained in Opera, the song choice should show his or her range.
Dancing
Entrants must give two copies of their discs at registration. The entrant’s music will be faded out by the 1:30 spot (90 seconds) and must be the only music on the disc.
